This month the Online Course Development Team will relate to you the stories about why we do what we do. Each week during the month of August, you’ll get a glimpse into each of our Instructional Designers, who’ll share with you what motivates us, inspires us, and keeps us going.

So, why do I do what I do? I can give you three reasons: Eldest Son, Middle Son, and Youngest Son*. They are precious to me and I want them to have the best of everything. This includes education. My job is to make sure that the best of education reaches today’s teachers so that they, in turn, can teach our, my, children. If I don’t do my job to the utmost of my abilities, then the people who suffer aren’t the teachers or even myself. Its my children. And yours. I make a difference each day that I turn my computer on and begin another day of designing.
So that’s the selfless reason. The selfish reason is that I really do enjoy what I do. The complexity of the subject matter, the design of the course, creating interactivities and graphics are all part of the daily puzzle that I delve into and focus on. So, while I may selflessly create outstanding courses for our children, I enjoy it personally as well.
Next week, Christy will reveal her personal story. Join us then for another revealing look into why we do what we do!

Your boys are innocent? Since when?
Well, innocent in the sense that they are monkey climbers, lego building maniacs, and expert hiders from Mom when we have to clean our rooms!
