Our team’s presentation on Web 2.0 Solutions for Course Development Communication Challenges for the TCC 2008 conference went extremely well, if I do say so myself. Don’t take my word for it though–here’s some of the comments from the participants:
- “Thanks for a great seminar!”
- “Very interesting and informative presentation. Thank you.”
- “Thank you all for the very prof[essional] session.”
- “You three are right on target. This is an excellent presentation.”
Over 30 people attended our session, which was higher than most other sessions (excluding the Keynotes). I was especially pleased with how active the audience was. The level of participation was great; people were asking questions, sharing resources, and helping each other throughout the presentation. That’s one of the features of online conferences that I really enjoy—while the presenter is talking and showing slides, the audience can have a conversation in the text chat. It’s a much more active and collaborative process than sitting in the audience at a face-to-face conference.
April collected and posted the resources shared by participants in the chat in this Conference Session Tools List. The wiki from our session is a way to extend the active participation past the end of the session. You can contribute to the wiki even if you weren’t able to join us live; just sign up for a free Wetpaint account and join the site.
